国内初のFMラジオ搭載ケータイ「A5503SA」

思い出のケータイを振り返る連載。今回紹介するのは、au（KDDI・沖縄セルラー電話）の三洋電機（現・京セラ）製ケータイ「A5503SA」です。 2003年に発売されたA5503SAは、日本で初めてFMラジオチューナーを搭載したケータイです。
背面には1.5型の大型サブディスプレイに加えて十字キーも備え、閉じたままでもラジオの操作、メール確認、カレンダーの閲覧、写真撮影やEZwebの閲覧なども行えました。
ラジオアプリ「EZ・FM」からは各放送局のサイトに簡単にアクセスできるようになっていて、そこから今聴いている楽曲の着メロや着うたのダウンロードサイトへアクセスすることもできました。
同時期に発売されたほかのハイエンド端末に搭載されている、メモリーカードスロットやメガピクセルカメラといった機能は備えていませんでしたが、薄型・コンパクトという三洋らしさを保持しているのも特徴でした。
ちなみにPHSでは、1997年に発売されたアステルの「AT-15」（東芝製）が初のFMラジオ搭載端末となっています。
